The brand-new Yorba Linda High School opened its doors in 2009 to freshmen and sophomores only. The first full graduating class from YLHS was the class of 2012. As of 2011, one private high school, Friends Christian High School, is currently under construction. Historically, a majority of Yorba Linda students also attend Esperanza in Anaheim, Troy High School in nearby Fullerton, or El Dorado in Placentia.
